I bought these to put on my Lakland 44-64 fretless bass. These are the strings that Tony Franklin uses on his fretless bass so I figured I would give them a try. I had flatwounds on my fretless for quite a while and wanted to give roundwounds a try. These don't disappoint. Yeah, they are rougher on your fingers than flats and will leave some marks on a fretless fingerboard, but that's all that is, don't be scared to give roundwounds a try on a fretless. These have good tension and the right amount of "mwah".

I have been playing Bass 6 years. I tried quite a few strings but kept returning to DR Sunbeams. I like the feel under finger and there is little or string squeak. Sets are consistent with good longevity.

Put these on my Jazz bass, they sound bright but not harsh. more than likely to use on my other basses also

Sunbeams is the perfect name for these strings. They are advertised as having the perfect balance of warmth and brightness, and that's exactly what they provide. They are round core, and very low tension, so they are very comfy and easy to play. They last a good while too. I've tried many other brands over the years, and have liked some of them a lot, but DR strings are my tried and true go-to!

I tried these instead of my usual Fat Beams. I noticed less “punchiness” and high end across the spectrum without losing or gaining any low end. They are quality strings and sound great for a lot of genres but I personally prefer stainless roundwounds.

I love these strings. DR Sunbeam is the perfect name as the warm tone just envelopes your whole body. I imaging golden sun blanket wrapping me in warm tone. Really, there's are great round core strings. Flexible with grip for digging in. Slap well too. These are my favorite round wound bass strings. I have them on two basses.
