This Yamaha guitar is very good looking. It was easy to tune and feels like it should stay in tune. The sound is very nice for a guitar at this price point.

It was a gift for my father, replacing his old one... and he's really happy with it.

A very fine guitar for this price range. Nice sound, very good construction and ease of play. Has the appearance and feel of a much more expensive guitar. An absolute perfect guitar for the beginner to intermediate student.

Great for those wanting to try a classical guitar that want to at least start with a solid top. Only negative was the strings it came with needed replacement within only a few hours of play. Easily solved for a longtime player but could turn off a novice who bought this as their first guitar. Just get some new strings!

Absolutely stunning sound for $250. I got the cedar top. Beautiful resonance. As for the downsides it has some cosmetic issues (e.g., printed-on rossette), some components are made with cheaper materials, and it doesn’t sound as nice as a concert quality instrument. But for a $250 manufactured guitar… I’m super happy. It really sounds quite nice.

I played guitar during highschool and it was 30-ish years ago and was not sure what to pick after having the urge to get my classical guitar obsession going again. The CG122 fit my budget so I went for it and has not regretted since: playability is good for what I can remember for someone who just restarts playing and the sound is more than pleasant. Even without nails (I'm a learning pianist so I prefer not to have nails to avoid scratching the keys) it's crisp, voluminous, resonant and warm (I went for the cedar top). And the build is just fine.
