Each handle is hollowed out at the front and back of the shaft to create the feel and balance of bamboo mallets without the inconsistencies and durability issues normally associated with bamboo.

These are the mallet for soft passages. Easy to articulate with the hollow handles, I have no problems recommending them.

I love these mallets! They are well balanced, and very light, which I happen to like. These mallets produce beautiful tones on all timpani, and are very versatile. Love the hollowed out handles!
