Yamaha’s Revstar Standard RSS20 is an update of the original Revstar series of guitars, refined to offer improved comfort and even more striking visuals!

This maple-topped double-cut’s lightweight chambered mahogany body is loaded with two Yamaha VH5 pickups that deliver bright and punchy tones that excel in almost any sonic application. The neck is comprised of carbon-reinforced mahogany so that it will stay straight and true in even the most challenging of environments.

What’s more, Yamaha has equipped this Revstar with their proprietary “focus” switch that shifts your tone’s resonant frequency and supercharges your pickup’s power. I've heard for years from people I respect that this guitar is probably the best guitar you can get for under a $1000. I've had real Gibson Les Paul's and many different guitars over the years, I've been a real Fender guy for a while now but wanted a Gibson style guitar but not a Gibson. I decided to finally get the guitar and boy am I glad I did. For several years my American professional strat has been my go to but now I always want to grab this guitar. It feels and sounds great, highly recommend.

I love playing this guitar. I researched guitars for 6 months before buying a new guitar because I wanted a humbucker sound, with some clarity and still a bit of high end. This fit the bill. The first time I picked it up it felt right. The only thing I had to get used to are the jumbo frets. I'm used to medium jumbo, but the jumbo are not taking as long to get used to as I thought. The finish is beautiful. It stays in tune well. I get the fuller hum bucker sound I like while still getting the clarity I want.

These sell out quick, I was glad I was able to get one while they were still available. There is plenty of good information on-line about the details that make this a great guitar. My feelings is that it is comparable to a Gibson Les Paul because of scale length, set neck, and over all quality, but the electronics are unique and provide an amazing range of tones. With the chambered body the resonance and sustain are inspiring. Makes you want to play without any pedals.
